This is still happening in kernel 2.6.22-10-generic #1 SMP Wed Aug 22
07:42:05 GMT 2007 x86_64 GNU/Linux
"lsusb" does not show the Bluetooth USB Adapter (mine is also Belkin USB
Adapter F8T012xx) and "lsusb -vv" hans forever.
kern.log shows:

I have the same problem I guess, boot first takes a long time to load
all usb things, then it hangs when configuring the network.
If I insert the stick after boot it is detected:
[ 143.634062] usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 2
[ 143.856915] usb 2-2: configuration #1
Attached is a tar compressed file with all of the messages both before
inserting the Belkin Bluetooth and after. This is in Herd 5.
