Just migrating this forward to Hardy's "linux" kernel package since
Edgy's 2.6.17 kernel is past the 18 month support period. Thanks.

It will be a while before I get a chance to test this bug. My computer has
been broken for some time now and I am currently unable to fix it. I will
keep this info, though, so that I can try it out when I do get my computer
working again.

I have the same problem here as well with my MX5000 set. I have to
unplug and replug the USB bluetooth dongle (BT 2.0 EDR) when KDM or GDM
start. If I boot into the recovery mode terminal, the keyboard works
and I can start KDM/GDM from there with no problems. I have not tried
removing bluez yet
yes, it works, i finally try it, when uninstall bluez-utils, keyboard
and mouse works without plug and unplug EDR modul. But still, its not
fixed and I dont know why people around UBUNTU dont pay more attantion
to this problem. Its not first report, its a lot of them reporting this
problem and its

Hi, thanks for answer. I will try it as soon as I install edgy again. But it
not fix the problem, and I dont want loose my bluetooth connectivity :( I
hope they will work on that and fix it. In dapper it work , other distros
too. So why in Edgy?But still, thanks for answer :) bye

Had the same problem with my Logitech MX 5000. See Bug Report 67312.
Only way to get the keyboard & mouse to work is by booting into recovery, start
up Adept & remove the bluez packages. You won't have any bluetooth conductivity
but your MX 5000 will work.
