Is the fix for this still to use the old via-ide driver or has the pata

been fixed yet?
Currently my module stack has (among other modules of course):

Brian, if you click on the "Overview" button in launchpad:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.20/ you'll see the
latest build is 2.6.20-5.7 which was made before Ben's comment. Probably
-6.7 will come soon and have switched to via-ide.

Good question. Tested the past few i386 and PPC daily snapshots and both
still have pata_via.

What release will this switch back to vid-ide driver happen? I have
2.6.20-5 installed and it's still wanting to use pata_via.
Currently I am using -4 with a self compiled via82cxxx module and
everything is just peachy. Having to rebuild that on each kernel
release is a bit of a PITA though.
Is
Switching back to the via-ide driver.

Well, I can confirm that it's not fixed in 2.6.20-4. For those of us
who need to use alternate ide drivers (generic for me until I can build
an old-ide via 82xxx whatever for my mobo) it would be nice to have a
kernel command line way of specifying which ide drivers to use rather
than having to re
Is this bug supposed to be fixed in any of the latest kernels in feisty?
Like in 2.6.20-4 perhaps?
Given that 2.6.20-2-generic seems to have defaulted to the (slow, but
stable) ide_generic driver, how is one supposed to choose to use the new
libata pata drivers? I had done it previously by adding
Indeed, I have been using the ide_generic driver on 2.6.20-2-generic for
the last few days (4 and counting now) and things have been just peachy.
