Well, I can confirm that it's not fixed in 2.6.20-4. For those of us who need to use alternate ide drivers (generic for me until I can build an old-ide via 82xxx whatever for my mobo) it would be nice to have a kernel command line way of specifying which ide drivers to use rather than having to regenerate the initramfs and reboot to change.
