vperetokin: Hi, can you run this command in a terminal please:
dconf read /com/canonical/unity-2d/launcher/hide-mode
This is something that should work for everyone. Is there anything
particular about your setup? Multimonitor? Resolution?
Is the Dash button (with Ubuntu logo) white by any chance
I'm getting this bug on 4.12.0-0ubuntu1.1. The 2D launcher is not auto-
hiding and is obstructing some important elements. I do have a
fullscreen app on one of the workspaces, maybe that is confusing it.
Either way, it's pretty annoying and hindersome.

On my system (which exhibits the same problem), "env | grep unity" shows
nothing when logged in using the "Ubuntu" option (which seems to fall
back to Unity 2D). Digging out those environment variables
specifically, they are:
DEFAULTS_PATH=/usr/share/gconf/gnome.default.path
XDG_CONFIG_DIRS=/etc/
@Johan: sorry, my mistake, you are right. Can you do the test again, and
when falling back to unity-2d, paste here the output of `env | grep

@Johan: if the hardware support is insufficient to run Unity (3D), the
fallback session is the classic gnome desktop, not unity-2d.

Hi.
I have a similar problem... not sure if it is related or not... but the

Problem is solved both with 3.8.1 or 3.8.2 (daily build).
