to step in for Rechner-Tester. I have the problem of random hang-ups, too. And
yes, it still exists. I'm running a i7 2680 with Intel HD 3000 Graphics T420.

Sorry, but I can not upgrade to natty for various reasons, so I can not test
this bug with natty.
It would be hard to reproduce it anyway, if at all:
- the GPU driver will change from VESA to intel with the upgrade.
- I still don't know how to reproduce this for sure.

There is no day without at least 1-3 crashes and with every crash I'm loosing a

I've missed some information which might be relevant:
- I'm using a dual display setup
- I can restart Xorg with kill -9 PID but not with kill, kill -2, kill -14 or
kill -15
- Xorg "only" uses about 90% CPU time, 10% are used by an other process which
name I will report as soon as xorg hangs aga
I am affected by the same issue. Though I am running Compiz. I will
add that killing applications over SSH, killing Compiz, or restarting
GDM with `sudo restart gdm` generally has no visible effect. Though
once killing VirtualBox brought my machine back to life for a few
seconds.
