This bug is fixed in the current version 0.10.1 which is already in Feisty.
I downloaded the feisty package and installed it on my Edgy. I had no
dependency problems.
Here is the changelog for the new checkgmail version:
https://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?group_id=137480&release_id=459
i have checkgmail 1.10-1 already installed from the ubuntu repos. (sorry
for the incorrect version posted)
the output from starting checkgmail -v (conditions like mentioned
above):
#(disconnected to the internet:)#
Error: 500 Can't connect to www.google.com:443 (Bad hostname 'www.google.com')
.
Thanks for the comment, please try to launch checkgmail from terminal with -v
and see if it says something useful.
Is it also possible for you to try to remove nwmanager and see if the problem
is still present?
By the way in the canghe log of last version you can read: "BUGFIX: If
version 1.10
all returned to normal after about ~45min... any chance to update the
status right after the connection has been established?
appreciating any hints!
thx and nice we!

Error:500 Cant connect to www.google.com: 443 (bad hostname) is only the
