This affected me too. Updating flash or installing flash using
KPackageKit does not work. I installed it using apt-get and it did work.

and either this functionality does not exist or is broken in
KPackageKit.

After a few times uninstalling and installing on different ways I got
flash working again.
I now Flash is necessary crap, but I never had that the browser has so
much problems with installing it. Why flash got uninstalled by itself
and doing so difficult to get reinstalled is still a mystery.

@bbwordwell
I looked if this is acidently is installed, but in the pic they offer
also flash alternatives, but you see only Flash-nonfree is installed.
I also checked the installer and this is the report.
serge@Twilight:~/.mozilla$ sudo aptitude search gnash
p browser-plugin-gnash
I see you also have gnash installed, I do not think it is recommended to

@kurt
I re-installed flash
serge@Twilight:~$ sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following NEW packages will be installed:
flashplugin-nonfree
0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove
7penselen
Cant you just update the flash and it would work?
or use
sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
as flash does not appeared to be installed on your system
Cheers
