I got the opportunity to try ESC and AltF2 ona hanging screenwith no success
Waiting for further instructions I wipe again the "quiet flash" from the grub
file.

So I got the opportunity to try ESC and AltF2, which did not succeed to close
the hanging "Ubuntu" grub splash screen.

Waiting for futher instructions I install again the go-around, suppressing
"quiet splash" from grub file.

Indeed bug #538524 being reported as fixed, I turned /etc/default/grub
Thanks for inquiring.
By "grub splash screen" I referred to the screen with UBUNTU and, below, dots,
color changing. When it hangs the dots stay red.
Since it doesn't hang each time, I'll report later about Esc and Alt F2

What are you referring to when you say "grub splash screen"? We don't
use a grub splash screen by default in Ubuntu, so please be clear about
what it is you're seeing when things hang. What happens if you hit Esc
at this hang? What happens if you hit Alt+F2?
