Thanks for the detailed instructions. Still nothing though. Seems to
be working as expected. When i try to open a new Update manager it just
maximizes the one already open. Have you installed all recent updates
for 10.04?

Oops. I should really have checked my instructions, rather than relying
on memory. I was using synaptic package manager at the same time
Try these steps.
1) Start update-manager, and minimize it.
2) Start synaptic package manager, and minimize it
3) Click on update-manager's icon in the taskbar,
I followed your procedure. When I minimize an update manager and click
to open a new one it just maximizes the minimized one. Seems to be the
correct behavior. Do any other applications you have act the same way?
Synaptic package manager for example?

update-manager: does not deiconify when
iconified is the KDE term for minimized, sorry for any confusion.
To reproduce -
1) start update-manager
2) minimize its main window
3) start a second instance of update-manager
The second instance will exit immediately, without asking the first one
to restore its window to a normal or maximized
Ok I am installing a copy of netbook remix to try this. Please tell me
the steps needed to make this event happen. And what do you mean by
"iconified"?
