I can't get pm-suspend resume properly.
however
/etc/acpi/sleep.sh force
just works with no modifications.

It sounds like when using the pm-suspend system via the pm applet that
you are getting a quirk set that your system does not like. Please

Just did suspend via powermanager again, but this time I was not able to resume
at all.
However after booting up again, I now have some more clues:

just tried to suspend again with the powermanager when
/sys/power/pm_trace = 1
upon resume the screen started to flickered with colors for about 5
seconds and then X restarted and I was presented with KDM logon prompt.
I logged on and it seems to work ok, expect that my session was kicked.

When I run the following as root, I resume just fine:
sync; echo 1 > /sys/power/pm_trace; /etc/acpi/sleep.sh force
however, when I suspend using the Guidance power manager I don't resume
properly.

I have a different laptop today. A lenovo t61, but I'm having troubles with
resuming with that one as well.

I've updated the affected package to Feisty's kernel, since the bug
persists.
Pascal, to make further progress, it would be useful if you provide all
previously requested information (lspci, etc.) from Feisty. Also, please
try the steps on the page https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend
I've tested with 2.6.20-9-generic and I can't resume here either.

I interactively added "pci=routeirq" to the 'kernel line' in GRUB and booted.
This was what was meant right?
It didn't change the behaviour.

After some upgrade everything started working. I am now using Edgy and
compiz-freedesktop 0.2.1-0gandalf and everything is ok (I stopped
upgrading compiz the moment hibernation started working).

Thanks this bug report. To make progress, some more information will be
needed.
Please attach (by commenting on the bug) to the bug report the output of
the following commands:
uname -a
sudo lspci -vv
sudo lspci -vvn
sudo dmidecode
It would also be helpful if you could try to hibernate/suspen
Doesn't work in Edgy RC1.

I've just tried with the kubuntu dapper live desktopcd and it doesn't work

I think that the importance of the problem should be considered high.
Aiglx is an important innovation with respect to Dapper, it brings
Ubuntu in direct competition with the GUIs of Mac OS or Vista.
However, nobody is going to use Aiglx on the laptop if it impairs useful
features such as hiberna
