Thanks for the clarification Colin. The fact that the link can be
manipulated from the shell suggests it is indeed a nautilus problem.

Symlinks don't have independent ownership in Linux. Furthermore, whether
you can remove a directory entry depends on whether you have write
permission to the containing directory; it has absolutely nothing to do

Yes, i have /home and / on different partitions.
Sure, it is possible to do anything with it in the console but the nautilus
function "Move to trash" does not work with this link.
So you think the separate partition is the reason for this problem?

Btw, Peter, Do you have /home and / on separate partitions? That has
been known to confuse Nautilus a bit in the past.

Hm. I can confirm that Natilus preferences tells me that it belongs to
root, but ls -l ~/Examples tells me it belongs to me (as does your
output above).
I am able to move it to waste and/or 'Delete' it with Nautilus though.
This is on Edgy as well.
