Gtick uses pulseaudio by default at least since 12.04 and 12.10, so this
can be closed, no? Or does it still affect anyone?

Seems still broken in 11.04
There is a patch available to configure between OSS and pulseaudio but has not
filtered down to us yet. (sorry it's beyond me to patch it)

That workaround doesn't work for me. I can hear the sound again but the
tick doesn't stay constant - when I move my mouse around or the gtick
window the tick lags.

As a workaround you can run gtick with the command "padsp gtick".
>From "man padsp": "padsp starts the specified program and redirects its

It isn't perfect though - gtick works as normal until
