Please, somebody advise me what to do next.
Bug is confirmed, package with fix is available for Debian, but still no
update for Lucid. Who is entitled to press the trigger ?

There is still no official update available.
Version 1.1.2 is available from Launchpad and is well tested, as far as
I know.

Why not use it?

Hi Josh,
I have no power to get this in Lucid, and there is bug #564692 up for
the Ubuntu release managers. I can't do more.
For me the fix is released because it's in available Debian packages,
unfortunately not for Lucid.

I don't see the fixed version 1.1.1 in Lucid updates yet. When will it
be available?
Or should I change status again?

So let's correct this:
"I filed bug #564692 on usb-modeswitch and bug #564695 on usb-
modeswitch-data."
I stated on both bugreports my opinion on the matter: I'm not willing to
do more than what was already done: if someone wants to see this update
in Lucid, he'll have to get it done by himself.
@Didier - um, 564353 is this bug. Did you mean another bug number?
Also, if you write "I filed bug #564353 (usb-modeswitch) and bug #564695
(usb-modeswitch-data)." instead of "bugs #564353 (usb-modeswitch) and
#564695" the bugs will automatically be linked.

Hi,
I filed bugs #564353 (usb-modeswitch) and #564695 (usb-modeswitch-data).
If you want this to be fixed in Lucid, you should probably bug the
sponsors team until they close these two bugs. :-)
Cheers,

Yo
It's a real pity if it doesn't make it in. Sony's MD400 was the primary
USB adapter sold by GSM carriers in North America (Rogers, AT&T) for
more than a year. Having them just "not work" for an LTS release is a
problem. Mind you, they didn't work with network-manager in 9.10,
either
Thank you f
This is fixed in 1.1.1-1, available in Squeeze.

Hi,
As Lucid is now in Final Freeze period, it is very certainly too late
for an upstream update of usb-modeswitch for Lucid. It seems a no-go.
I created a PPA with "Debian official backports for Lucid": ppa:odyx
/usb-modeswitch It will always contain the testing version.
