Hi, As Lucid is now in Final Freeze period, it is very certainly too late for an upstream update of usb-modeswitch for Lucid. It seems a no-go.
I created a PPA with "Debian official backports for Lucid": ppa:odyx /usb-modeswitch It will always contain the testing version.
