I have a Epson TM-TI88IV connected through the /dev/ttyUSB0 (udev'd to
/dev/ttyUSBatc) using an ATC usb to seral converter. It works perfectly
in Karmic but when I copy over the exact same settings to Lucid the usb
to seral coverter is recognized but an echo testtesttesttest >
/dev/ttyUSBatc produ

Additional testing using python to open the port and read or write: When
opening the port is successful, the light on the Keyspan changes from
blinking to solid. This occurs on jaunty, but not on lucid, or on
Knoppix 6.2.1 (kernel 2.6.32.6) or on Fedora 12 (kernel 2.6.31.5).
Contrary to what I tho
Major correction: there seems to be a hardware problem with the built-in
serial port on the machine used for testing, so the problem appears
peculiar to USB-serial devices, and has been verified with the single-
port Keyspan on another machine.
