The module for the device should already be loaded as root is mounted on a drive on that SATA controler (and the drives work fine if they are plugged in at boot). BUT, even if the drives are plugged in at boot, UDEV still doesn't react if I unplug or plug one back/in (obviously not the root one as

I ran "sudo udevmonitor -e" in one terminal and "tail -f /var/log/messages" in another. The output of udevmonitor was: - udevmonitor prints the received event from the kernel [UEVENT] and the event which udev sends out after rule processing [UDEV] -
