I tracked this down and managed to get mine to display correctly. In the
translators/google.py file, the engine queries google.it instead of (in
the English case), google.com. I'm not sure how to deal with the
internationalization problem, but this seems to be where it stems from.

No, I'm not in Italy, and my browser is not set to use any particular
language. Google.com / .co.uk appears in English in the browser.

Oh that's weird. You're seeing languages in Italian. If your browser is
configured to use Italian then that's the problem. If you're in Italy, then
google might guess the language from your geo location.
In either ways, this could be forced when requesting languages.
