suspend-to-disk works fine, at least for me. all you need to do is
perform killall mixer_applet2 especially when you have the hsfmodem
driver module from linuxant installed. I appended this after #!/bin/sh
in /etc/acpi/suspend.d/70-modules-unload.s

Can't say anything about dapper, as I upgraded to edgy long ago. On
edgy (with fglrx installed and listed in MODULES in /etc/acpi-support),
hibernate is completely hopeless (the hibernation process seems to get
wedged) and sleep only "sorta works." If my laptop is not in its dock,
I can sleep and
Hi, can you confirm that this bug still occurs? Sorry for the delay.

Followup: I still occasionally see problems with suspend-to-RAM:
* resume from RAM gets wedged and won't respond until I hit the blue
"Fn" key in the lower left of my keyboard.
* Instead of suspending, I am taken to the "unlock user interface"
dialog that one normally encounters when resuming. g
I had the same problem with suspend-to-RAM on my t60p with fglrx (latest
release from ATI). It is currently working reliably, AFAICT, with the
following options in /etc/default/acpi-support:
ACPI_SLEEP=true
MODULES="fglrx" # unload/reload fglrx module when suspending
I do *not* have SAVE_VBA_ST
I've put the boot hang problem into Bug #52689 as I think that's a
separate issue.

OK, well things seem to be a little better using VESA (i.e. without
fglrx), but not much.
On suspend, it now properly switches off the LCD, and the moon light
continues to flash, with intermittent disk activity which eventually
stops. Unfortunately (after 10 minutes), the light had not ceased
flas
Ok, this seems to be a different bug. What graphics drivers are you
using? If it's fglrx, can you try with vesa?
