Gcompris administration tool works fine for me in Ubuntu 7.04 "Feisty"
(except a usability problems, for example I didn't found the way how to
show a login prompt as default). Are there any users, who has problems
with gcompris administration tool in Ubuntu 6.10 "Edgy" or 7.04 "Feisty"
?
** Change
It seems this bug really exists in Ubuntu 6.06 LTS "Dapper" and needs to
be fixed in dapper-updates or dapper-backports (by uploading new,
correctly working version from feisty or gutsy)

Gcompris administration me
Hi Ubuntu users.
Before entering the technical detail, please let me tell you how sad I
feel that nobody did bring these problems to the development team of
GCompris. Unless it's clearly a packaging issue I see no reason why the
development team of GCompris is not kept aware of problems found. Tha
the Gcompris admin tool is working fine for me in Edgy. Can anybody who
was having problems try it in edgy to see if they are still having a
problem?

The Gcompris administration tool does't work for me on fresh Dapper
installs. This is a pity since it reduces the possibility to adapt the
activities according to the age, skills and interests of children.
Is there a time frame for fixing the bug or creating a straightforward
workaround suitable
I'm on dapper too. I tried the repo suggested in gcompris site:
http://thomas.enix.org/DebianRepository with dapper repo that get gCompris-7.4
and that worked correctly.
After that i remove gCompris-7.4 without purge it and reinstall the
dapper 7.2 from official Ubuntu repo and *then* it worked!
I have same experience as Obake and most others who can't get it to
work. I am using an updated version of Ubuntu Dapper release(i386).
Administration tool just doesn't work

are you sure you use the 7.2-1ubuntu6 package ? there was a bug with the
sqlite engine during dapper development that was fixed with 7.2-1ubuntu6
...
i just tested it in an up to date breezy (i386) and it works fine there
as well btw.

Gcompris administration menu not working
https://launchpad
Just another comment. When launched from a terminal, gcompris -a and in
profiles select Add here what i got:
starting profiles panel
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/share/gcompris/python/administration.py", line 180, in
select_eventmodule.start(self.panel_area)
File "/usr/sh
In my case also the Gcompris Editor dosn't respond at all.
If I click classes/users, it doesn't give me the option to do anything. There
are none in the list. If I click "groups," it says to select a class, and there
are none in the list. If I click "profiles," it has the option to add, but
not
works fine here (tested it right now on three fresh edubuntu installs on
amd64, i386 and powerpc)
