Correction the Mount Option is "relatime".
Unfortunately, that is not the fix. I reloaded Karmic and selected "relatime"
as the mount option on all of the install partition formats and received the
same "waiting on the LVM to mount" error message.
I'm back to Jaunty, which reinstalled/booted &
So, I re-installed Jaunty. No problems seeing the LVM or booting.
I did notice that the Ext4 format defaults to the "realtime" file system
option, where karmic defaults to "default".
I am going to reinstall karmic and select the "realtime" option this time.

Correction: This error is repeatable with the daily build karmic server
not the alternate install cd. Testing the alt install cd now. Not 100%
sure this is a server edition, but it is found below the the Server
install CD heading so i hope it is.
