Thanks for following up. As Martin said in comment 5, there is not
enough information to investigate the problem you are experiencing and
you didn't provide the information he asked you.
Since it was a while ago, the 'sudo apt-get -f install' may not be relevant
anymore.

specifically, you feel that this is no longer an issue (since it has not
been resolved). Also, I am frustrated by the fact that you have chosen
to mark it "Invalid" when, in fact, the only reason I opened this bug
was by canonical's own

Please try "sudo apt-get -f install" (which should trigger the faiilure
again) and copy&paste the complete output. This should trigger the
Apport crash reporter, whcih sends a more complete report. Right now
there is no information for debugging here, sorry.
