One reason for this behaviour may be that hal is not installed or the
hal daemon is not running, since kaffeine (at least as of 1.0-2) uses
HAL to find DVB devices.
To find out if that is your problem, look for messages like
QStringList
Solid::Backends::Hal::HalManager::findDeviceByDeviceInterfac
have a look at dmesg. I have an A-Link DVB USB dongle, and I noticed in
dmesg that there is no firmware! I installed the linux-firmware-nonfree
package, which includes the A-Link firmware. Then remove adapter, re-
insert, open kaffeine. Now open menu "Television" > "Configure
Television" then selec
Same here. Just upgraded. Downloaded the scan data. But still unable to
scan channels. Buttons grayed out as described by last poster.
My card is a LifeView Duo (Philips Semiconductors
SAA7131/SAA7133/SAA7135 Video Broadcast Decoder). It has worked
perfectly since Gutsy.
