As far as I can tell, the same or a similar problem is still present in
ubuntu 13.10.

There was no activity because we (the users) reported the bug and you
(the developers) didn't do anything about it. Instead you let the bug

The similar problem with 2.30.2 in debian.
I can't use proxy authentication. The browser can load the initial "warning"
html page from proxy (obtained from proxy.pac) with a button for
authentication. In Firefox/IE, after pressing the button the auth dialog
appears. But the Epiphany sends none
@julien, please could you check if this issue is still affecting you
under latest release 2.30.2-1ubuntu1 (also ships with libproxy0 0.3.1.x)
included in Ubuntu Lucid?

I had the same problem with epiphany-browser/luci (2.29.92-1)
Problem solved by upgrading libproxy0 to the lucid one (0.2.3-0ubuntu6)
So that
epiphany-browser:
Installed: 2.29.92-1
Candidate: 2.29.92-1
Version table:
*** 2.29.92-1 0
500 http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com lucid/universe
I can confirm this bug. Gnome proxy settings are set to automatic proxy
configuration (a pac file location).
Starting epiphany from the CLI results in a message:
*** PAC found, but no active PAC runner! Falling back to direct...
and obviously no page is loading as my network does not allow direct
Apparently this happens because libproxy needs a javascript execution
environment such as mozjs or webkit.
