Thanks for the update on this.
A friendlier time-out notification might avoid confusion on this. I
have no issue with the daemon disappearing when a requesting application
is unreasonably idle, but barring a modification to the aptd
queueing/monitoring system, there should be some better form of
Idling on the password dialog is not supported by the PolicyKit DBus API
(AFAIK there has to be a response in the first 5 minutes of an async
system dbus call).
The aptdaemon shutsdown if it's idle after some minutes to save system
resources. Actually we don't check for still running authenticatio
