It affects me also, Ubuntu Karmic. I too am playing Runescape and I
can't get sound from both Java and SMPlayer/Exaile/Flash. If I run
Runescape first, I have sound in Runescape, but not in my video players,
audio players, Flash-animations and sites like YouTube and vice versa:

(specifically "it" refers to muxing /dev/dsp and alsa concur

Confirmed. Tested Frostwire and Youtube, on kubuntu 9.04 32-bit. Only
one outputs sound at a time.
