I can confirm the same symptoms on a Dell Mini9 using the inbuilt 3G
modem on Vodafone Australia.
I am running the UNR release with the latest updates. Ethernet, Wifi and
Bluetooth all work fine.

specific.

Solved for my Huawei E169 (12d1:1001) using latest build of network

I added the 'trunk' instead of 'ppa' at software sources, instructions from:

I hope this is permanent now!

Thanks for the comment and updated instructions George!
I'm going to give kylea some time to add more details ( ie. the modem
manager debug output, and model #). If I don't see them tomorrow, I may
change the description to E169!
I plan on pinging upstream tomorrow anyways, as tekstr1der entered
I am just adding the detailed procedure I used to get the 'modemmanager
log data' (in case a less experienced user like me is trying to find
it):
0. boot without the modem, wait for the system to fully load
1. open a terminal window and stop network manager: sudo
/etc/init.d/NetworkManager stop
Also, I'd like to request that if you're having NM 0.8 3G problems and
you *don't have an Huawei E220*, please open a new bug, as these
problems are usually vendor specific. Thanks!

Why was this changed to reference the Huawei specifically? Clearly it is
affecting several various makes / models? Should I reopen my original
report for this issue which references the Verizon UM150?
