Hi zeroandone,
This bug was reported against an earlier version of Ubuntu, can you
test if it still occurs on Lucid?

I guess that for me it's related to the video controller (Brookdale): -
when putting resolution as low as 640 x 480, mouse appears again. Of
course this is not a workable video resolution.

I confirm the bug with Logitech V550 Nano wireless mouse, after upgrading to

Catting /dev/input/mice does work.
Sometimes the mouse works after plugging the receiver into another port,
this happens randomly.
The mouse worked without any problems on Jaunty with kernels 2.6.28,

I switched back to the previous kernel where the mouse was working and
that did fix the problem. I also tried the xorg.conf generated by xorg
-configure (which tries the "mouse" driver instead of evdev) and
installed the xorg-input-driver-mouse package and set AllowEmptyInput to
true in ServerLayo
I meant to say switching to the old kernel did NOT fix the problem.
