Same happens for me all the time. freezing and hardreboot. Ext4 and
deleting big (over 4-5 gb) and many files?

My ubuntu installation freezes too when I want to remove files from the
Trash.
Everything is freezzed, keyboard, mouse, display...
I can remove one file at a time but not a directory. When I try to
delete files using a terminal window it freezes too if I should remove
any directory.

It's almost certainly not a nautilus bug if your whole machine freezes -
that's most likely a kernel issue instead.
