switching from exa to uxa yesterday may 12th caused a freeze with
2.7.0 and since the time
i was able to finally visit www.woodtv.com with 2.70 i had not had
any issues so it seems that
uxa with my current configuration is certainly not workable without
freeze. exa works well.

wirechief's freeze using 2.7.99.1 was UXA related and possibly not
relevant unless he had freezes in EXA also using 2.6.3 which he didn't
make clear. Switching back to 2.7.0 changed him back to using EXA, I
couldn't explain that well enough privately I guess.

As per wirechief's last comment, this seems to be gone in 2.7.0, which
is uploaded to karmic (and a backport is available from x-updates).

seems my freeze issue has gotten resolved with the installation of

Seen several other bugs, one referencing error in dmesg. I have this

Is it possible that evtouch causes the freezes? (too)
I get no freezes when I use my touchpad, but when I use the touchscreen
X crashes after a few minutes (or seconds) and I have to restart X with
++.
I also experienced freezes in kuki (aspire one distro, intrepid based) after I
installed evtou
Frozen after several hours w/ 2 apps in full screen mode. Attaching
dri_debug tarball as instructed, minus kdm.log. My kdm.log file wound
up being huge (6+ GB - yes, GB). If you want portions of it, please let
me know and I'll attach or post snippets.

Followed instructions for installing the debugging tools (using kdm
instead of gdm). I am *not* using the xserver-xorg-video-intel package
from Bryce's ppa, using v. 2:2.6.3-0ubuntu9.
Have not experienced any freezes yet - running almost an hour now,
freeze was happening within just a few minute
Same issue in Kubuntu 9.04, Sony Viao VGN-NR498E.
