Title:
cursor freezes in Jaunty Alpha 5 with Nvidia
This bug report was filed against an old version of Ubuntu.
Can you confirm whether this is still an issue in natty?
If you don't mind, it would be very helpful if you could update the bug

I just set up the new PPA in my sources.list file, and switched to the
new driver (karmic). I still had to set my resolution manually. I have
a widescreen monitor with 1400 x 900 resolution, which may explain the
problem.

I've posted a new version of the -nvidia driver to our xorg-edgers PPA,
would you mind testing it either on Jaunty or Karmic and see if it
resolves this bug?

My machine freezes randomly when using nvidia-glx-180 (180.44) in
Jaunty. Switching to nvidia-glx-173 seems to work fine. I have heard
that 180.53 fixes the crashes, but haven't tried that.

** Description changed:
The package could be the Nvidia driver but I don't know. The cursor
freezes when I am in Firefox or checkgmail, but also froze when I was
playing Gweled. I don't have any screenshots to show because when the
screen freezes, I have a struggle to either reboot the s
Nvidia still didn't recognize that my monitor required 1440 x 900, but
with the other fixes, I set the resolution manually and am having no
problems.

It might help if I add that when there are multiple parts to a window -

Even with the change in the Nvidia driver, my screen is still set to the

to use alt combinations to close screens and still can't use parts of

Hi ginnyh532,
Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log
