Same problem with VGN-C25G with ubuntu 9.01. This is the first install of ubuntu on this machine and wake from suspend gives blank screen every time. (Going to suspend seems to not have a problem.) I also noticed that the WLAN indicator light intermittently goes into blink mode. -- [Sony Vaio VGN

I was using Ubuntu 8.10 and suspend/resume worked fine with the stable kernel. The machine did not break, but when I resumed it there was a black screen. I tried hitting Ctrl+Alt+Del to kill X but to no avail. I tried clicking a few other buttons and moving the mouse but the screen remained black.

Did you recently have a suspend failure, this could have been some time before the report was triggered and offered to you. If you did, did the machine break while going to sleep, or while coming back from sleep? Is this reproducible say over 10 cycles. Has suspend ever worked in the past, if so
