Just commenting that this bug still exists on an upgrade from 8.10 to 9.04. The upgrade completed with errors (the ca-certificates failing to install). Unknown if this is a problem, and if so what I should do to correct it. Will monitor this resource for more information. -- package ca-certifi

I can confirm that this error occurred when I upgraded my laptop from 8.10 to 9.04 (final release) using the alternate install cd to perform an offline upgrade. In my case the upgrade continued without aborting, the error simply stated that the ca-certificates package may not work correctly. Then
