I agree that bug #215620 may be the same. I hadn't previously run top,
but I see the same behavior: gtk-gnash using 25% cpu while the video
does not play. However, no one there reported success with any videos,
and I am able to view *some* videos (though they seem to be in the
minority).

videos and play them with totem.

I found a new helpful bit of info: some videos work. Could this be a
codec issue? For example, from the Google channel, this video works:

but this one does not:

What browser were you using? Also what is the hard drive swap capacity
/ free space and total memory. If you could tell me a bit more about
