i have the same issue, it is not a normal shutdown, it is like pulling
the power cable from a computer. when it happens it is a little random,
sometimes it will shutdown at the loading splash screen, sometimes at
the login screen, but most of the time within a minute of getting to the
desktop.

Try starting Ubuntu in recovery mode and wait until it shuts down. Then you
should see a message, why it's going to shut down.
And if it is no "normal" shutdown, could you explain it a bit better? Is it
like you pull out the electricity cable of a computer?
