No luck whatsoever. It did pretty much exactly the same thing as 4.
After an entire week of persistence, I resigned to dual booting xp until
such time as the card is fully supported. :/ I can live with that, but
it is a pain in the rear.

I had very high hopes for the new network-manager that were shot down
the second I plugged in my aircard. As far as the KPPP solution goes, I
was using 4. I'll give 3.5 a try and see what ends up happening. Wish me
luck! :)

I did see some posts where the new KPPP was not playing very nice. The only
work around was to use 3.5 instead of 4. Hopefully it is something simple to
fix in NM. I have used a CDMA card with the new NM and it is awesome so I
had very high hopes for the GSM setup.

Wireless), and just by calling on the the specific device in a terminal
using pppd directly. No luck, really. I'm at a total loss as to what to
do, or even try next.
I will second seeing this behavior. I have a friend who has a Toshiba
laptop and a Sierra Wireless 881 USB network adapter. Last year I set
him up with 7.10, using KPPP and the settings recommended from a Sierra
Wireless guide on their site. Worked like a champ. Looking to upgrade
him to 8.10 and s
