Another "Me too." I'm using Spamassassin and the error started after
upgrading from Ubuntu 8.04 to 8.10. It appears the spam filter might
still be running, despite the status bar messages (ex: the status bar
shows a "progress indicator" when memorizing new 'Junk').

Hi,
This problem is not restricted to bogofilter, I am getting this problem
with Spamassassin. The error is 'Pipe to Spamassassin failed, error
code: 5'. The error displays when you click on the warning icon in the
status bar.
The problem is only evident after starting Evolution and the errors

It turns out I had "Check incoming messages for junk" enabled in
Preferences > Mail Preferences > Junk. Even though I had junk filtering
disabled for all accounts in Mail Accounts. Now I don't experience this
anymore.
I wouldn't call this fixed though. First instead of piling on
could you try to set an email as spam and note if that workaround the
issue?

I am also affected by this bug. Attached is a screenshot of the problem.
