I'm running Lucid beta1, but even with Karmic it frequently would
disconnect without the Network Manager icon showing it disconnected. I
simply reconnect when this happens, but it is rather annoying. It seemed
with Jaunty (same Mobile Wireless internet connection as I have now) I
didn't have this p
first occurrence in quite a few up/down cycles. broadband cellcard
connection seemed dead after lengthy idle (had not exited according to
syslog), so clicked connection in nm menu; got "disconnected" popup
message; clicked same menu item to reconnect, got crash notification.

Happens regularly, also while using my Huawei mobile internet USB stick in the
train, while travelling through an area with bad reception.
A restart is the only thing that helps then.
