The problem does not occur any more, 2.6.27-7-generic in use.
I've given the updater overwrite my /etc/modprobe.d/options file and
it's since worked fine.

Now there is problem with NetworkManager applet, the net comes up fine when
booted
but this network-damager system show disconnected status and it or somebody
else tells firefox to start in
offline mode, which is really annoying.

This issue is not occuring anymore, I'm not sure if I got it fixed by
adding to /etc/modprobe.d/options file line :
'options forcedeth msi=0 msix=0'
and running update-initramfs -u
or by apt-get upgrade.
The next boot after that update-initramfs was not able to get net on
but after that
It seems that after suspend / resume i can not get any networking at all.
tried even rmmod forcedeth and modprobe forcedeth,
but net stays down.

/etc/netwok/interfaces, never actually used that, but i do re

due to a chance the intrepid kernel might damage the firmware. (Bug
