This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try

Slightly lame workaround:
Several users with this or a similarly presented error have been able to
resolve it by changing the behavior of SATA devices in setup / BIOS. On
a new Dell Vostro 200 desktop shipped from Dell in early November 2008,
changing the setting for the SATA HD from IDE to RAID

The "irq 18: nobody cared"-message disappears on my system (Abit IP35
Pro XE motherboard) by changing the SATA mode in the BIOS from IDE to
ACHI. This motherboard uses the ICH9R southbridge.
The system is still really slow at starting up though, as can be seen
here:
