There have been some significant improvements with -intel on Jaunty.
Can you please test against Jaunty Alpha 4 or newer? When you test,
please check both "EXA" and "UXA" AccelMethod's.
I suspect this may be a mesa bug rather than -intel but we'll leave it
here for the time being.

The rendering glitches discussed here looks pretty different (not all of them
were on 965 either), but some of them might be the confirmed 965 issue
described here:

Right, this should not be marked as a duplicate. Bug #252094 has

actual rendering errors reported by Roberta. Those who do not have
exactly the same issues as Roberto should file new bugs and not comment

Bug 252094 is about poor performance (framerates). This bug is about
rendering errors.

Is there any progress/update about the status of this bug?

Carsten,
I have just installed the molecule viewer Avogadro. I get similarly

Hey,
I can confirm the problems running Ubuntu 8.10 on a Dell Latitude D830

Google Earth shows distorted images (like in the screenshots of the
earlier bug reports), Compiz works okay as long as one does not try to

Hey guys,
I'm getting same bad GL rendering issues on my machine, which is an Acer

I can confirm this. I have the same problem with Intel 965GM(X3100).
Performance is degraded compared to hardy and there are missing
textures(celestia looks just like on Roberto's screenshot). Performance
was even worse and I was getting "Failed to initialize TTM buffer

Sorry by the late, but now I'm uploading a picture from Intrepid (with
all updates, 2008/09/09). It's the same Celestia image, but now you can
notice that the texture is missing and there are lots of weird "pixels"
through the image.
Celestia is not the only software where I get rendering problems
Just as I stated before, on Windows Vista the same X3100 renders
flawlessly.
Timo, or anyone else, if you have a chance, please tell me if I'm the
only who gets this problem.

Hi,
Sorry, I think I was kind of precipitated on this bug report.
First of all, I'd like to point that I get rendering problems since

Could you be more specific; what apps cause rendering errors and what
kind of errors. Photos are nice. My 965GM doesn't seem to have any
problems, and you have the same chip.
