I'm closing out this bug. The original issue expired, and people are
just reopening it with incomplete info. If you have this hardware and
are still seeing the bug, please report a NEW bug about it - see
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Reporting for directions on how to do this.

Attach your Xorg.0.log and Xorg.0.log.old from after attempting a boot.
If you're booting from a LiveCD you may need to switch to a console and
copy it to a USB key, or similar.

Hi,
Thanks for the update.
Unfortunately, it didn't help. The system boots fine until starting X.
After a long while the screen fills with garbage and grows brighter.
More garbage...
As far as I understand it from the comments, the driver isn't able to

A new major version of the -intel driver is now available in Karmic.
This version includes a major reworking of the acceleration
architecture, which resolves a huge number of issues. We do not know
whether it resolves the issue you reported.

I can confirm this bug is still present on my ST4120P with 9.04 Jaunty
rendering it useless - same X server errors as werthtobi posted.
I can also confirm the old i810 driver worked fine before it was
removed.

I have updated my st4121 from Hardy to Jaunty but the bug is not fixed jet. The
old i810 driver worked ..

Thanks for letting us know; sorry it had such problems. Since the HW
isn't available for testing I'll close out this bug. If someone else
with this hardware can reproduce the issue on Jaunty, feel free to
reopen.

I have sold the stylistic 4110P after this long term of problems (3
years). Hope nobody will ever buy such slate for use anything else but
the producers official supported operating systems. Fujitsu should stay
ashamed for their politics.
Maybe someone other out for checking the driver now?
Bye

We'd like to forward your bug upstream, however upstream requires

To save you the effort of building the driver from source, we've built

I can confirm this on my Fujistu Stylistic ST4120p , since my upgrade from
gutsy to intrepid ( yeah, I know... ) Video is broken.
The i810 driver seems to be a stub for the intel driver, which does not work (
and never worked ) with the Fujitsu Stylistic Devices.
I attached the Xorg.log with the

For starters, it's not using the intel driver, but vesa. Can you try a
livecd to see it's the upgrade that resulted in breaking it, rather than
then new driver.
