better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important

So I removed the proprietary nVidia driver and tried again. The notification
icon was still there, and when I attempted to change the resolution (to
1024x768 fwiw) I was removed from my desktop and dumped to the login screen.
Any attempts to log in since have resulted in being returned to the lo
