So I removed the proprietary nVidia driver and tried again. The notification icon was still there, and when I attempted to change the resolution (to 1024x768 fwiw) I was removed from my desktop and dumped to the login screen. Any attempts to log in since have resulted in being returned to the login screen. I ran dmesg from a terminal, and (not being any good with the cli) the only thing that appeared to change during a login attempt was: mtrr: base (0xe0000000) is not aligned on a size (0x7f00000) boundary.
It's bizarre in that the login screen had the native resolution and worked perfectly. -- Screen Resolution Icon in Notification Area https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/252258 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
