I asked you about the NVIDIA installer as it has caused the same problem
to a lot of other users. The NVIDIA installer overwrites what other
packages installed and its --uninstall option is not enough.
I'm marking this bug as invalid since it's not a bug in the nvidia-
glx-177 package.

nvidia-glx-177 to hav working X), but it was a dpkg message that nvidia-
glx-177 wants to overwrite file that belongs to libgl1-mesa-glx
(libGL.so or libGL.so.1)

2) nvidia-glx-177 uses diversions for such files therefore, if you're having a
problem with it I would like to know wheter you installed the driver from the
NVIDIA installer (from NVIDIA's website) on your current installation of Ubuntu.
