1) I cant give you exact error message (as I forced installation of nvidia-glx-177 to hav working X), but it was a dpkg message that nvidia- glx-177 wants to overwrite file that belongs to libgl1-mesa-glx (libGL.so or libGL.so.1)
2) Yes, I had NVIDIA driver (from NVIDIA's website) installed some time ago (177.14.09). For few days I had both (NVIDIA'a package and Ubuntu's package) an I finnally uninstalled NVIDIA package (using NVIDIA's package --uninstall option). I went through all of this because I have problems in compiling Wine with opengl support, but that's another story. -- nvidia-glx conflicts with libgl1-mesa-glx https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/252101 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
