I've tried to print sample pdf file attached by Nikolaus Rath and evince print
it correctly, not scaling it to the whole page, so I think that this bug was
fixed in the latest release.

i believe i am having a related issue, but let me know if i should file
a new report.
however, the problem i am having has to do with scaling down the printed
page, it seems.
i am trying to print a precise alignment protractor for aligning a
turntable's cartridge (attached).

I am not quite sure how this bug can apply to gedit. Could you give me
more detailed instructions on how to (try to) reproduce it with gedit?
The text in gedit doesn't really have a prescribed size, so how can I
determine if it has been scaled or not?
But I think the upstream bug is about the same
