The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

Unfortunately, I don't have immediate access to the machine in question,
but just yesterday it was booted up with the latest kernel, and the
lockups are still present.

Did you look in /var/log/kern.log? That's how I found out what was
locking up the machine I was using.

Hi,
On my particular hardware this does not result in a soft lock, but a
complete hard freeze. If I download the original driver for the rt61
from sourceforge, and recompile it, it does not cause any issue.
On Gutsy the same problem was present, but only caused the networking to
stop working (and
