confirm same problem on my hp zt3000 laptop. Happens when resuming from
suspend. Hibernate never worked for me, so no report on that.
hardy heron. Others didnt mention this , but my screen also is a mess of color
like a lost tv transmission for a few seconds after resume.
is this the same thing

Unfortunately, on this cycle the loud noise was not happening. It seems
as if it is only present on longer (several hours) cycles. I will
replace this attachment when it happens again.

I have this issue as well with a Dell Inspiron 1525n (came with Gutsy
installed, I upgraded to Hardy). It is truly a terrible noise!
The frustrating thing from a troubleshooting point of view is that it
does NOT happen every single time that I resume from suspend, but I have
been unable to determ
I'd like to add that if someone happens to have earphones plugged in and
is wearing them, this bug has potential to cause damages to the wearers
hearing ability. The sound is high pitched, very loud (maximum?) and
very impulsive.
