With my Intrepid lastest updates with nokia n70 I can not browse the phone and
I cannot send files from the mobilphone to the laptop. In some of the past beta
or alpha versions of intrepid I could use send files from the mobil to the
laptop.
With 8.04 never worked and with 7.10 always. ( NEVER b

I can confirm that I was able to copy files from the phone (LG KU990)
and to the phone with bluez utils 3.x, however, the recent update to
version 4.12 of bluez utils breaks the direction phone to PC.

I use ubuntu 8.04 64bit and (as I wrote before) mobile_phone nokia 6630.
1 problem corrected with patch: send files from mp to pc. Now ok!
1 problem open: right click on bluetooth icon -> Browse device.. -> I select

I've seen instances where unticking the option in bluetooth preferences
doesn't actually kill the process (this could be a separate bug but hey-

Running Ubuntu Hardy Heron (8.04), testing with a Nokia N70.
I had the same problem: can send files from PC to phone, cannot send files from
phone to PC.
I upgraded the package 'bluez-utils' to the Intrepid version, and now sending
files from the phone to my PC works great.

Having just built my intrepid partition I can now confirm Emmet's
attached debdiff fixes the problem for me on Intrepid. Before the the
patch sending files to my laptop over bluetooth failed. After applying
the debdiff, building and installing the resultant deb I was able to
send files to my laptop
The obex-data-server fix appears to be in obex-data-server 0.3.3: if the
nominations are approved, this task is Fix Released in intrepid, and
Confirmed in hardy.

I've refreshed the patch against intrepid, and also tested there. I
don't see any change in behaviour, which is best intepreted as a lack of
regression, as I didn't see the problem to start. Attached is the

Couldn't find the update COLIN was talking about above, but replaced the
bluez-utils from debian sid as Ajo said and EVERYTHING WORKED LIKE A
CHARM! Now I can do everything using my Nokia e61; sending, receiving

Sending files from Nokia E65 to Ubuntu Hardy works now (on amd64, no
chance to test it on i386 right now).

I can report the initial issue with Symbian 60 based phone (Nokia
N-Gage). File sending works from Nokia 6230i (Symbian 40) and N800
(maemo).
I reckon this is somewhere in the more lower level than obex-data-
server, as the obex-data-server process running in daemon mode doesn't
even get invoked.
Sorry, it IS working with Nokia 6820 (not Symbian): I can browse content and
send files to notebook.
It is NOT working with Nokia N70 (Symbian): I can not browse content nor send
files to notebook.

Confirmed here with Nokia 6820 (old model, not Symbian). Sending files
from phone never worked in Gutsy.

Confirmed here with Nokia 6120 classic (symbian).
I can send files from PC to phone and also can browse/copy files on phone. But
sending from phone to PC fails.
I am willing to help testing and debugging this issue since I own the
necessary cell phone device to reproduce the bug.
How can I help?

With the version from Debian browsing also shows nothing. Since I never
tried this feature before I have no idea if this is what is supposed to
happen.

I have a Nokia 6680. Browsing the mobile shows nothing. Sending through
the mobile to the laptop now fails. It was working in Ubuntu 7.10.
Downgrading to http://packages.debian.org/sid/i386/bluez-utils/download
fixed the problem.

I could browse/copy files with Nautilus in 7.10, since Hardy, Nautilus
opens an empty window ( obex// address is right)

Same problem here:
* Clean install of ubuntu 8.04
* Removed pairing from my phone - all nice and clean
* Added the pairing successfully
* I can connect to the phone from nautilus and browse/dl/etc
* I can sync my evolution contacts, etc with my phone using opensync/msynctool
* I CANNOT send using
